Evan R. Menist, Board Member

Evan Menist is Co-Executive Director of the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, a nonprofit farm and education center dedicated to building a just and sustainable food system in the Hudson Valley. In this role, he advances programs that expand food access, engage youth in environmental education, and train the next generation of farmers.

Evan also represents the Second Ward on the Poughkeepsie Common Council, where he has served since 2019 and is currently the longest-serving member. On the Council, he has advanced smart housing and development policies, promoted government accountability, and worked to create a more walkable, greener city.

His previous experience includes leadership in county government, campaign management, urban planning, and policy research, with a consistent focus on strengthening communities through sustainability and equity. Evan holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from Marist College.

He lives in Poughkeepsie with his wife, Danielle, and their dog, Harvey.
