Peekskill’s Conservation Advisory Council (CAC) has driven meaningful environmental progress over the past 13 years through community-centered, collaborative efforts. A recent $75,000 grant-funded tree inventory marks a critical step in addressing the city’s declining tree canopy, which is essential for cooling urban areas, improving air quality, and enhancing overall quality of life.
