Peekskill Resolution Favors Countywide Blowback Against Gas-Powered Leaf Blowers

The Center for Economic and Environmental Partnership, Inc. (CEEP) requested a resolution that led the Peekskill Common Council to unanimously support the concept of a countywide summer ban on gas-powered leaf blowers across Westchester County. Ahead of the vote, Jan Melillo, chair of the Peekskill Conservation Advisory Council, delivered a presentation outlining the environmental and public health impacts associated with gas-powered equipment, including air pollution and ecosystem disruption.
