David R. Berg, Secretary and Board Member

David R. Berg concluded a long career in government policy and consulting services in 2015.

Most recently, he served as President of Berg & Associates, LLC, which offered strategic and financial consulting services to businesses and governments on energy, environment, and technology, in part to help companies apply for government loans, loan guarantees, and grants. Clients of the firm sought and gained substantial financial and programmatic support from the federal government, particularly the Department of Energy.In 2008, Mr. Berg concluded a 38-year career with the Federal government in which he served primarily in senior advisory roles for the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Commerce (DOC), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A consistent theme in his career was enhancing government policies and programs that encourage commercialization and early commercial use of advanced technologies that convey environmental and economic advantages. This work involved identifying the risks that govern business decision making, applying this knowledge to improve government policies, analyzing the value to businesses and governments of policy accelerants to commercial use of such technologies, and developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs for public–private risk sharing. Mr. Berg graduated from Beloit College in 1969 with a major in government. He completed the American Management Association’s non-degree graduate program in 1970.
